What does Tramal retard - extended-release tablets contain and how does it work?
Tramadol is a strong narcotic analgesic from the opioid group, stimulating mainly receptors called
µ (less stimulating kappa and delta receptors). Its potency is said to be 1/6 to 1/10 that
of morphine.
Another mechanism of action of tramadol is to affect the communication between
noradrenaline- and serotonin-dependent nerve cells. The point where two neurons connect is called a synapse. The cell transmitting information,
located in front of the synapse, releases into the synaptic cleft the so-called mediator, i.e. a substance that is captured
and recognized by the receiving cell located downstream of the synapse. Some of the mediator molecules are taken
back up by the receptors of the neuron in front of the synapse, which is called reuptake.
The action of tramadol consists in inhibiting the reuptake of norepinephrine, and thus extending the time of
its action in the synapse and the time of excitation of the receiving cell.
Tramadol also increases the release of serotonin from the cell in front of the synapse.
Tramadol has an antitussive effect, unlike morphine in recommended doses, it does not inhibit
the respiratory system and does not impair the motility of the digestive tract. It has only a minor effect on the circulatory system.

Indications: Ad
hoc and short-term (for 7 to 10 days) in the treatment of sleep disorders (difficulty falling asleep, frequent awakenings,
premature awakenings), in premedication (preparation for surgical procedures and arduous diagnostic tests).
Dosage:
The preparation is in the form of tablets. It is intended for oral use. Do not exceed the recommended doses because
it will not increase the effectiveness of the drug and may harm your health and life. If you have any
doubts regarding the use of the preparation, consult your doctor. Severe sleep disorders causing increased
exhaustion of the patient.
Adults. Short-term treatment; 10-20 mg 30 minutes before bedtime. If necessary, your doctor may advise you to increase the dose
to a maximum of 40 mg/day. The drug should be withdrawn slowly. The maximum duration of treatment, including withdrawal, should not
exceed 4 weeks.
Adults. 20-40 mg 30-60 minutes prior to surgery or diagnostic testing.
In elderly patients, reduce the dose by half. In patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency, the doctor
will probably recommend a lower dose.

the drug should not be discontinued suddenly. It is always necessary to reduce the dose gradually under the supervision of a doctor.
Abrupt discontinuation of the drug may cause sleep and mood disorders, impaired concentration and attention.
Attention! Do not drink any alcoholic beverages during treatment with Neorelium and up to 3 days after its completion.
